Ibn Abbas interprets it as "good temperament" and Mujahid interprets it as "kekhusuan and ketawadhuan". And, as was also the interpretation of other commentators.
Atsar on the face rather than on the physical conditions (skin) dihawatirkan face because there are other reasons (it happens) in addition because diligent in prayer. It may be because the quality mat (rough), skin (sensitive), or others.
